In this article we're looking at the changes that have gone live during July 2024 in the Filmstro Music Web App. If you prefer to watch the video update then scroll down to the bottom of this page where you will find the overview video link!
New Stem Groups feature
The biggest update is the addition of stem groups which you can access directly from the stem group tab. Click on the icon of the 'Maestro' (conductor) in the side-bar and this will open up the stem control tab.
From here you will now see our new stem groups instead of a standard list of tracks. This will improve the speed with which you can identify the specific sound(s) you wish to exclude from your custom soundtrack.
Offline Latch Mode
This feature was a request from several of our power users who asked us to change the way that you set the sliders position for the very beginning of a track. Previously you would have needed to either use a selection or the pen tool to draw the position (if the available templates weren't quite right for you!).
Now you simply enable latch mode and move the sliders to the desired position. Just ensure that the playhead is at the very beginning of the timeline if you want to set the sliders for the very start of the music playback.
Various QOL updates for Browse tab
We've also pushed a number of smaller patches recently to address a number of general improvements to do with the browse tab which we've listed out below:
- Emotional Profile filter in browse tab
- Energy filter in browse tab
- Vocal vs. Instrumental filter in browse tab
- Improved 'Search Similar' functionality in browse tab
- New labels for the sliders in browse tab
