How to Remove Copyright Claims on YouTube When Using Filmstro Music

If you’ve used Filmstro music in your YouTube videos and received a copyright claim, don’t panic – it’s expected, and very easy to resolve.

This guide walks you through how to remove copyright claims based on your Filmstro license type – whether you’re a free user, a subscriber, or an Enterprise client.

🧭 Find Your License Type First

Filmstro supports six main user groups. Scroll down to the section that matches your plan:

  1. Free Music Users

  2. CREATOR subscription (or Creator Single-Track)

  3. PRO subscription (or Pro Single-Track)

  4. PRO | Plugin subscription

  5. ENTERPRISE subscription (or Enterprise Single-Track)

  6. Educational subscription

1. Free Music Users

If you’re using Filmstro’s free music in your personal, monetised YouTube videos, you just need to add our keyword license in your video description.

✅ What to do:

Paste this exact line into your video description:

Music: Filmstro | Music is for everyone | https://filmstro.com/royalty-free-music/

✅ This line acts as your automatic license. Claims are released automatically after upload.

⚠️ What to expect:

  • You WILL see a claim when uploading your video — this is normal.

  • YouTube will send you a confirmation a few minutes after publishing that the claim has been released.

  • Do not make the video private. Keep it Unlisted until the claim is released to avoid delays.

  • Once the claim is released, you can safely make it public and keep all your monetization.

2. CREATOR Plan (and Single-Track Licenses)

This applies to:

  • Paid CREATOR plan (monthly or annual)

  • Single-track licenses marked as CREATOR

These licenses do not include YouTube channel whitelisting. Instead, just use the keyword license.

3. PRO Plan (and Single-Track Licenses)

This applies to:

  • Annual PRO subscribers

  • Single-track licenses marked as PRO

  • (⚠️ Monthly PRO subscriptions do not include whitelisting — follow the CREATOR instructions in Section 2 above.)

✅ Annual PRO License Holders

You can submit your YouTube channel ID to Filmstro for whitelisting. Once whitelisted, claims are automatically avoided on future uploads.

  • Your YouTube Channel ID (found under YouTube Settings > Advanced Settings)

  • Any individual video IDs you want cleared – for example client videos not on your channel(s).

⚠️ Monthly PRO subscribers

If you’re on a monthly plan, you’re not eligible for whitelisting. Use the keyword license in your video description instead (see section 2) and/or provide the keyword license to your client(s) or register individual client video IDs with us.
