100% of our functionality is working inside of DaVinci Resolve Studio (that’s the paid version – not the free version).

However, it’s important to note that this product requires BlackMagicDesign to make one small change to their API to allow us to fully sync with their timeline.

BlackMagicDesign does not extend the level of developer resources or support to third party developers as we receive through our partnership with Adobe, so a key development milestone is outside of our control and is a ‘blocker’, preventing us from finishing this integration.

However, you can actually help expedite the completion of this product by simply visiting this page and very easily submitting a request for the DaVinci Resolve product team to amend their API to “allow Filmstro to control the Resolve transport” (please use that exact phrase!).

Once that’s in place we can achieve full sync and release this product immediately! 🚀

Yes. We have some encouraging proof of concepts, but no firm release date as BlackMagicDesign’s API is not as fully developed as Adobe’s. This means that while we can run 100% of our functionality inside DaVinci Resolve, we cannot control the transport so we need BMD to provide some alternative API integration to complete this project.  

If we receive the support we need and complete this product then it will be included in the Filmstro PRO | Plugin plan. 

Also, please note that the upcoming integration for Resolve will only work in the paid Studio version of DaVinci Resolve.
