If you have an active Pro, Pro | Plugin or Enterprise subscription then you have automatic access to these SFX in the App.
Purchasers of our legacy Pro Plus Lifetime License – purchased directly via Filmstro at full price – will also receive complimentary access.
If you have a YouTuber subscription, Creator subscription, Educational subscription, YouTuber lifetime license, Pro Lifetime license, promotional deal-price lifetime Pro Plus license, or a lifetime license purchased via a third party deal site, then you do not have automatic access to these SFX in the App.
If you still hold a legacy for-profit-organisation subscription you also qualify for automatic access.
No. These are separate products. You choose whether you’d like to use these SFX in-App OR whether you want to use these SFX as one-shot spot SFX files to drag and drop directly into your NLE.
No. These products are not linked in any way and are two distinctly different ways of interacting with the new SFX content.
The AppSumo Lifetime deal offered access to the Filmstro app and its features as they existed then. That access remains unchanged and permanent.
What we’ve recently launched is an entirely new product category that didn’t exist when the Lifetime deal was sold, and which requires its own production, licensing, and hosting costs. While these may appear as updates to the old library, they are in fact discrete, premium products.
We realise some users understood their Lifetime license to include all future Filmstro content and updates – and that remains true for everything within the music library and for ongoing software updates to the original Filmstro app or its replacement that you’ve received access to; depending on whether you purchased your AppSumo deal in 2021 or 2022. However, the new Sound Effects category represents a completely separate new addition to the Filmstro ecosystem, not an extension of the original Lifetime offer.
We’re sincerely grateful to our true early supporters – those who backed Filmstro during its formative years through subscriptions and feedback – as they’re the reason we’ve been able to keep innovating and growing. The AppSumo promotion, which came later, introduced Filmstro to a wider audience at a specific moment in our journey, and we’re thankful to everyone who discovered us through it and continues to use the platform creatively.
